Our Story

We are The Stormoen's

Rachael and Michael are the heart behind Le Château Bed and Breakfast, raising their family of six right here in the home. They live on the third floor, while the first and second floors welcome guests from near and far—creating a space that feels both lived-in and lovingly hosted.

With four children between the ages of 4 and 12, there’s often the gentle sound of little feet and laughter in the background. Their children proudly help greet guests and lend a hand, adding to the warmth and authenticity of each stay.

Michael, a district manager by profession and a natural chef at heart, prepares breakfast each morning with care and creativity. Rachael makes sure guests are comfortable, well-caffeinated, and truly at home—bringing her gift for conversation, hospitality, and connection to every stay.

Both raised in Wisconsin Rapids, they chose to build their family and their business here because of the community’s generosity and spirit. Rachael also leads a local real estate team and often helps guests who fall in love with the area find second homes or make Rapids their own.

​

Their home—once housing sixteen children when it was built in 1889—has always been a place where families gather and memories are made. Today, that tradition continues, shared with guests and supported by their beloved dog Phoebe, who’s always available for snuggles (by request).
